Peppy Dental overcame a two-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Jamestown Savings Bank, 9-8, on Friday and advance to the championship game.

Peppy Dental must now defeat the other finalist, the Jock Shop, twice, in order to capture the championship. The first of a possible two games is slated for Monday at 7 p.m., at Bergman Park.

Trailing 8-6 and just three outs from suffering defeat, Tyler Phanco (two hits) connected on a two-run single that knotted the game. Then, for the second night in a row, Corey Falkowski scored the game-winning run, this time by virtue of a passed ball.

Along with Phanco, Chad Nelson had two hits, O’Neill Rosado had a double and Davonte Strudwick a triple for the victors.

Nelson, Wilmari Guzman and Collin DePonceau combined for 14 strikeouts on the hill.

For Jamestown Savings Bank, Jacob Quatron and Niko Panes (double) had two hits apiece.



Jacob Payne fanned eight in four innings to get the win and Matthew Dallas pitched the fifth for the save in Falconer’s 10-7 victory over Jamestown.

Brayden Newman had two hits and Alex Lillie doubled for the winners, who play Olean at 8 a.m. today at Roseland Park.

For Jamestown, Scalise and Simmons doubled and singled and Scoma added two singles.
