Edna Bloomstran, 92, of Golden, Colo., died July 17, 2013. Edna was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of Hustler and Alice Crossley Todd.
Edna grew up in Jamestown and on Sept. 7, 1940, married Harland Bloomstran, spending 66 years together. She worked at Dahlstrom Manufacturing, Sylvania during World War II, Hopes Windows and later as the Secretary to the superintendent of Jamestown Public Schools. In Jamestown, Edna was a member and past president of Allen Park Women’s Club, Rogers School PTA, a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and later Camp Street United Methodist Church.
In 1966, Edna moved to Arvada, Colo., when Harland was transferred with Dahlstrom Manufacturing.
Edna was the assistant manager of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce from 1973 to 1985. She loved playing bridge, traveling, water aerobics and time with her family. She was a volunteer at Lutheran Medical Center and at the Arvada Senior Center.
Edna was a member of the Arvada United Methodist Church and later attended Green Mountain United Methodist Church.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Harland who died in 2006; and her parents; Hustler and Alice Todd. Survivors include her children: Nancy Horrocks (Guy-deceased) of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Bemus Point, N.Y., Mary Bloomstran Thomas (William) of Golden, Colo., and Ronald Bloomstran of Huntington Beach, Calif.; grandchildren: Christine Soresi, Karen Horrocks, Stephen Horrocks, Alexander Thomas, Andrea Thomas, Aimee Thomas, Christopher Bloomstran and Kevin Bloomstran; great- grandchildren: Annie, Samantha, Lucy, Faith, Parker, Reid, Clayton, and Kyle.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Green Mountain United Methodist Church, 12755 W. Cedar Drive, Lakewood, Colo. Graveside services will be held on Friday Aug. 16, 2013, at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Lakewood, N.Y.
