A memorial graveside service for Richard Tramontana, 93, who died March 6, 2012, in Delmar, N.Y., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Lake View Cemetery.
The husband of the late Ruth Miller Tramontana who died May 2, 2011, Dick and Ruth resided in Jamestown their entire lives until moving to Selkirk, N.Y., in 2003 to be near family.
Dick was born in Jamestown Jan. 22, 1919, the son of the late Charles and Frances Arcodia Tramontana, and attended James-town schools. He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a Tech Sergeant in the Army Air Corps stationed in the Caribbean. He was employed as an automobile mechanic for many years and later worked as an automotive service manager for several area garages.
Dick was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Jamestown and of St. Patrick’s Church in Ravena, N.Y. He belonged to the American Legion and the VFW.
Surviving are three children: Charles M. (Bonnie) Tramontana, DDS, of South Bethlehem, N.Y., Ann M. Tramontana, MD, of Hagerstown, Md. and James P. (Denise) Tramontana of Longmont, Colo.; five grandchildren: Major Christopher M. Tramontana, stationed in Alabama, Stephanie A. (Adam) Dumey of Alexandria, Va., Richard T. (Kimberly) Tramontana of Breckenridge, Colo, James P. Tramontana of Houston, Texas, and Justine M. Tramontana of Longmont, Colo.; a great-grandson, Caleb M. Dumey; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth.
