14-YEAR-OLD GIRLS SB TOURNAMENT

Sydney Burk threw a two-hitter as the Southern Tier All-Stars defeated Brooklyn, 9-5, in its opening game at Budd Lake, N. J.

Maggie Burns drilled three hits with two doubles while Lauren Madden and Rachel Baglia added two hits apiece. One of Madden’s hits was a triple in the win.

MacKenzie Marsh and Kayla Fish accounted for RBI singles for the winners.

DISTRICT 38 (11-12)

NON-SANCTIONED LL TOURNAMENT

Ben Schrader pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts, no walks and six hits as Falconer (5-1) won the championship over Brocton, 5-3, at Gerry.

Cody Dallas had two singles, Nathan Abbey and Bryce Baglia contributed triples and Trent Wood a double for Falconer.

Hunter Rizzo stroked two doubles and Jordan Krystod a double in the loss.

DISTRICT 38 (9-10)

NON-SANCTIONED LL TOURNAMENT

Taking advantage of several walks, Falconer prevailed over Hanover, 13-3, in a game called after four innings because of the 10-run rule.

Jason Dustin stroked two hits, Jedd Jaroszynski a triple and Brock Johnson a double for Falconer. Other players that had key singles were Alex Lillie, Matthew Dallas, Tyler Williams, Brayden Newman and Jacob Payne. Payne scored three runs.

Payne pitched 3 innings in allowing three hits with seven strikeouts and Dallas came on to fan the final batter in the fourth for Falconer.

Matthew Brunner recorded a double and a single for Hanover.

RUTH LEAGUE (13-15)

Andrew Latona drove in three runs with two doubles and a single and Mike Mammoser also drove in three runs with two doubles as Jock Shop prevailed over the Eagles, 11-6, in a season-ending tournament game.

Carson Peters, Kameron Rizzo-Walker and Latona combined for 12 strikeouts in the win while Matt Hill went the distance in defeat.

Peters cracked two hits and Griffin Noon added two hits as well for the winners, who were helped by defensive plays turned in by D’zon Matve and Rizzo-Walker.

Jason Tonkin had three hits with a pair of doubles and Stephen Brombacher tripled for the Eagles.

Jock Shop now meets Lakeview Landscaping at 8 p.m. today at Bergman Park.
