Fourth Of July Is Not A Day To Judge Others

To The Reader’s Forum:

I was rather disappointed to wake up on July 4th, the day we should be celebrating independence and unity as a nation, to discover that The Post-Journal, in what could only be a blatant judgment lapse, decided to run a Letter To The Editor filled with discrimination and division against the gay community.

Independence Day is not a time for allowing yourself to be used as a megaphone for hate and fear mongering. Ideally, no day is a good time for this. And shame on the author for continuing to advocate rejection of anything you do not understand. There is a reason the only argument he seems able to bring forth is the slippery slope: precisely because nothing is wrong with gay marriage itself.

Thumbs down on July 4th, Post-Journal.
