Vendor Spaces Still Available

The City of Jamestown Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department has announced that there are still spaces available for food concessionaires interested in having a spot reserved at the 2013 Labor Day Festival. The 34th Annual Labor Day Festival will be held on Sunday, Sept. 1 at Bergman Park. All concessionaires are required to sell unique items, with the exception of pop and water. Concessionaires also must be a nonprofit organization or have a nonprofit organization designated as the beneficiary in order to participate in the festival. Those interested in being a food concessionaire or wanting more information about the Labor Day Festival should call the Recreation Office at 483-7523.

History Of Dances Set For Saturday

The history of dances and dance halls in Allegany State Park 1933-1973 will be discussed by speaker Bob Byledbal on Saturday at 1 p.m. The event will be held at Camp Allegany, Red House Area, Allegany State Park. As many as 4,000 people attended the Dawn Dances in Allegany State Park, including many people from the Jamestown area. Area residents are encouraged to attend the talk to re-live those days.

Scramble Tourney Set For Sunday

RANDOLPH – On Sunday, Randolph Area Baseball is hosting the 4th Annual Scramble Golf Tournament to benefit Randolph Area Little League. The tournament is held at Cardinal Hills Golf Course. Blood Drive

Set For Today

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will bost an American Red Cross blood drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, at the BPU Education Room, 92 Steele St., Jamestown. Lunch for blood donors will be provided. Walk-ins are welcome. To arrange an advance appointment, call Becky Robbins, BPU communications coordinator, at 661-1680.

County Road 9

To Close Today

The Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works will be closing County Road 9, Cold Spring Road, in the town of Cold Spring this morning for the replacement of a cross culvert. It is scheduled to be reopened this evening.

Dinner Event

Set For Friday

Christ First United Methodist Church will hold a spaghetti and meatball dinner Friday from 4:30-7 p.m. in Darrah Hall. The dinner is being prepared by Chef Robert Koch and is in support of the Student Scholarship Fund, a benefit for students seeking higher education. Tickets are available at the church office and at the door and are $8 for adults and $4 for children.
