Brewing Company To Host Third Annual Summerfest
LAKEWOOD – Area residents will have the opportunity to beat the heat with a cold brew and live music during Southern Tier Brewing Company’s third annual Summerfest.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, July 27, beginning at about 3 p.m., will feature live music by Mosaic Foundation and DJ Jonny Cobra, a keg bowling tournament and a Wegman’s barbecue fundraiser for United Way. There is no cover charge for the event.
According to Nathan Arnone, STBC graphics, media and marketing manager, the event is held each year to celebrate the middle of summer, which is a great time to host a live reggae band.
“Our summers come and go really fast so our goal here is to have a celebration of summer, which is a good time for everybody to come up to the brewery to have some beers, listen to some music, get goofy with keg bowling and eat some barbecue,” said Arnone. “It’s a free concert with DJ John Bell from Good City Records in Jamestown spinning some vinyl records on stage and Rochester based reggae band Mosaic Foundation.”
The music will start at about 3 p.m., with DJ Jonny Cobra spinning until about 4 p.m. and Mosaic Foundation will play until about 7 p.m. DJ Johnny Cobra will perform again during Mosaic Foundation’s break. Also held during the break will be a keg bowling tournament, which features a take-home trophy for the winner. Guests will also have the option of playing some Kan Jam frisbee or play a round on the Stones Course, which is essentially miniature golf using bocce balls.
Arnone is particularly excited to welcome back Mosaic Foundation, who has performed at the event for the past three years, he said.
“We really-really like those guys,” said Arnone. “You hear reggae music and you think summer, at least that’s what we do. For those who haven’t been here before, it’s a park-like setting with an easy-going atmosphere. The sound will be fantastic because we’ve hired APG Events Production group. Come on up and enjoy the summer, some dancing or absolutely nothing while you listen to some music in the sun.”
Parking for the event will be located at the brewery as well as at the previous location of the brewery on Stoneman Avenue. Parking is not permitted on Hunt Road. Southern Tier Brewing Company is located at 2072 Stoneman Circle in Lakewood. For more information visit stbcbeer.com or search for “Southern Tier Brewing Company” on Facebook.
