Jacob Payne, Jedd Jaroszynski and Brayden Newman combined to throw a four-hitter with seven strikeouts in leading Falconer past Dunkirk, 15-5, in the semifinals.

Falconer, which scored eight runs in the second inning to put the game away, will now face the winner of today’s semifinal contest between Bemus Point and Hanover on Friday for the championship.

Leading the victors at the plate was Alex Lillie, who had a team-high three hits, Payne, who had two hits including a two-run triple and Tyler Williams and Jaroszynski, who delivered two hits apiece.

For Dunkirk, Eric Norton finished with a pair of singles.


Sean Kubis went 3-for-3 with six RBIs to lead 84 Lumber over Gerry.

Cooper Stuart and Billy Eskeli each had two-run doubles for the winners while Dexter Ormond and Tanner Stimson each had two RBIs. Seth Beckerink had a single and a triple.

For Gerry, Petersen and Thorpe had two hits each.


Jeff Miller had three hits and Robbie Burgess and Winfred Nelson two hits each as the Jamestown Tigers (2-1) prevailed over the Knights of Columbus, 7-2, in the Buffalo Police Athletic League at Cazenovia Park in Buffalo Monday afternoon.

One of Nelson’s hits was a two-run home run and Burgess added a triple. Mike Mammoser had an RBI single.

Seven different pitchers worked for the Tigers and Chad Nelson picked up the win.

Last week, the Tigers were dealt a 7-3 defeat by Frontier.

Miller had an RBI triple while Nelson and Chris Haase had RBI doubles for the Tigers.

Coach Joe Spoto reminds players that are attending the Jon Matlack camp today and Thursday at the Martin Road Complex to bring a packed lunch. Water will be provided.
