Myers Library Board To Meet

FREWSBURG – The Myers Memorial Library trustees board will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the library community room. The meeting is open to the public.

Book Group To Meet Tuesday

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Memorial Library Book Group will meet Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. to discuss “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. The novel is set in Germany in World War II, and the heroine is a child whose foster parents resist the Nazis while hiding a Jewish man in their basement. The book chosen for Aug. 20 is “Memoirs of a Geisha” by Arthur Golden. Copies of the books are available at the library and Off the Beaten Path Bookstore in Lakewood. Carroll Seniors Meeting Set

The Carroll Senior Citizens will meet at noon Wednesday for their monthly meeting and their annual indoor picnic. Members attending should bring a dish to pass and their own table service. The entertainment for the day will be the newly formed Ding-A-Lings Group from Emeritus who sing, play bells, read poems and tell stories. All over the age of 50 are invited to attend the meeting which is held at the Frewsburg American Legion in Frewsburg. Pizza Cruise To Be Held Thursday

FALCONER – The Falconer Senior Citizens met June 24 at Falconer Park. There were 45 members present. A pizza cruise on the Summer Wind will be held Thursday from 3-5 p.m. The cost is $20. A chicken barbecue will be held at Falconer Park on July 22 at noon. The cost is $5 for members and $7 for non-members. A Chinese auction will also be held July 22. Attendees should bring a wrapped gift. The Office for the Aging will be selling tickets to the picnic at Midway Park in August. Frank Fonti will be collecting for the Casino trip and Italian Festival for members and non members on Aug. 10. The cost is $25. Call Fonti at 665-2058 for more information.

Ivory Block Party Is Wednesday

FREWSBURG – The fifth annual Ivory Community block party will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Ivory Baptist Church pavilion. Hot dogs, beverages and table service will be provide. Persons attending may take a dish to pass. A 30-minute program, including music and gospel magic, will be provided by the Jamestown are Boys JIM Club.

St. Mary’s Cemetery

Comm. To Meet

The St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery restoration committee will meet at the HorseShoe Inn on Wednesday at 1 p.m. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.

Regional Comm. Meeting Set

M. Brad Whitcomb, regional director for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Allegany Region, announced that the Allegany Region Commission will meet at Allegany State Park, in the Red House area administration building, Tuesday at 2 p.m.
