Annual Reunion Set For July 20

SOUTH DAYTON – South Dayton Cherry Creek Schoolmates annual reunion will be held Saturday, July 20, at Zollingers Hotel, South Dayton. There will be fellowship at 11 and lunch at noon. News and pictures to share are encouraged. Call 532-4764 for more information.

Bible School Begins July 29

LAKEWOOD – “It’s A Small World!” vacation Bible School will be held from 6-8 p.m., July 29 to Aug. 1, in the Lakewood United Methodist Church, 164 Shadyside Ave. Children in pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade will take virtual trips to different parts of the world and participate in activities including pinatas, a penguin race and hoola hoop contest. Other churches participating are the Ashville, Blockville and Celoron United Methodist churches. Dinner will also be provided. For more information or to register, call 763-9345.

Cooper Reunion Set For July 21

The fourth annual Cooper reunion will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, in the Bergman Park pavilion. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. Those attending should take a dish to pass and a wrapped gift for an auction. Children’s games, face painting and cornhole tournaments will be held.

Senior Report To Host A.J. Dolce

“Senior Report with Reed Powers” will have A. J. Dolce as the guest Saturday. Dolce is mayor of the city of Dunkirk. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. Saturday. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions, comments or a shout-out. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

Butterfly Bash Set For Sunday

There will be a “Butterfly Bash” fundraiser for Epidermolysis Bullosa on Sunday from noon-3 p.m. at the Jamestown Elk’s Lodge on Fourth Street EB is a rare, sometimes fatal, genetic condition that affects one out of every 50,000 births. Patients with EB have skin so fragile that any rubbing, friction, or slight trauma can cause severe blistering and sores inside and outside of their bodies. Tickets for the “Butterfly Bash” are being sold for $10 presale or at the door. This includes lunch, entertainment and chance to win door prizes. All proceeds from this event will be donated to DebRA of America (debra.org) and its programs/services including its search for treatment and research to lead to a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa.

90th Birthday Party Is Sunday

CATTARAUGUS – An open house for Julia Burroughs Waters 90th birthday will be held Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Cattaraugus Manor on Mill Street in Cattaraugus. Family and friends are invited. No gifts please.
