Richard A. “Ricky” Schulz

FALCONER – Richard A. “Ricky” Schulz, 53, of Taylor Street, Falconer, passed away Monday (July 8, 2013), in the town of South Valley, as the result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born March 8, 1960, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son Fletcher W. Schulz of Ellington, and the late Patricia Anderson.

He attended Falconer Central School, and was currently self-employed as owner operator of Southern Tier Pressure Washing in Falconer, which he has owned for more than 20 years. Ricky had worked previously for Signature Seal in the winters plowing, Malleable Iron Works in Jamestown, and for the town of South Valley highway department.

His interests included riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycles, playing his drums and playing at the Open Jam at the Bull Frog, a trend he started more than 20 years ago that exists today. He also loved camping on the river in Onoville with friends and family. Ricky was a special person who had the gift of making people always feel special, as he was very social and friendly to everyone, espe-cially those with disabilities. He was a former member of the Vietnam Veteran’s Association in Jamestown.

He is survived by his father, Fletcher W. Schulz of Ellington; wife, Amy Widmark Schulz, whom he married Sept. 14, 2002, and with whom he was with for more than 25 years; a daughter, Melissa A. Schulz of Jamestown; three grandchildren: Amber Coy, Emily Coy and Hannah Coy, all of Jamestown; two sisters: Bethany Van-Rensselaer and husband, Howard Sr., of East Ran-dolph, and Sharon Dilworth of Elmsford, N.Y., two brothers: Robert Schulz of Randolph, and Ronald Schulz and wife, Karen, of Jamestown; and his dog, Gentle Ben.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patty on Nov. 6, 2007; and a brother, Todd A. Schulz on Oct. 20, 2008.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, from where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Lee O’Brien, pastor of the Busti Federated Church, will officiate. A luncheon will follow at the Carroll Rod & Gun Club, 1111 Frew Run Road, Frewsburg, N.Y.
