Free Basketball Camp Set At Ellington

ELLINGTON – A free basketball camp is set for the Park in Ellington for grades first grade and up July 15 through 19.

Registration is at 8:45 a.m. with the camp running from 9 a.m.-noon each day.

Coach Bruce Ratcliff, athletic director at District of Columbia High School in Columbia, Miss., and a staff from the Tri-County Baptist Association are going to be on hand to show the youngsters how to develop dribbling skills, shooting skills, passing skills and free throw shooting skills.

The camp, which is sponsored through the First Baptist Church of Ellington, teaches the youngsters the value of teamwork and promotes citizenship among the participants

Ratcliff has been working with youngsters for more than 20 years and in active in the men’s ministry at the First Baptist Church in Columbia.

The camp leaders will show the importance of sportsmanship and developing a Christ-like attitude.

Each player must fill out a medical release form to be eligible.

Refreshments and water will be provided to the youngsters free of charge.
