Learning To Laugh

BEMUS POINT – Aging Services Network will hold its next get-together Tuesday, July 16, at Bemus Point United Methodist Church, 4954 Bemus-Ellery Road, Bemus Point at 2 p.m. A presentation will be given by Cindy Aronson, corporate trainer.

Aronson is a member of the National Speaker’s Association and also serves on the Lucy-Desi Center for Comedy board of directors. Aronson will discuss how Lucy’s legacy of love and laughter is more relevant than ever in today’s fast-paced, stressful world.

Aging Services Network was formed to better prepare the professionals working with this special population. ASN’s purpose is to share knowledge, resources and the best practices to better serve clients, friends, residents, volunteers or neighbors. ASN is an informal gathering of professionals serving the senior population within Chautauqua County. There is not a membership fee, and meetings are held quarterly.

The meeting locations are changeable, meeting at different agencies to accommodate everyone countywide and encourage attendance. The meetings may be held at senior centers, churches, senior living complexes or agencies serving seniors.

Meetings are not only for professionals working with seniors, but any interested individual is always welcomed and encouraged to attend. Each meeting hosts a speaker giving a presentation on a relevant, specific, senior topic. Each speaker shares their expertise in their designated field. The formal instruction is followed by refreshments, door prizes, plus time dedicated to agency sharing. Everyone tells of their own agency’s special event or share information about opportunities beneficial to seniors. All correspondence concerning meeting times and schedules are all handled via email.

The schedule is as follows:
