Lily Dale To Be Featured On ‘Ghost Hunters’

LILY DALE – Sci-Fi Channel’s ever-popular “Ghost Hunters” will highlight another season with a show on all you ever wanted to know about spotting spirits at Lily Dale. And, visitors will learn how Jason Hawes and other Atlantic Paranormal Society ghost hunters deal with ghosts, hauntings, and an entire raft of paranormal activities. The program will be staged July 20-21 with tickets required for each Saturday/Sunday event.

This season Hawes will bring Steve Gonsalves to Lily Dale. Gonsalves, a high tech guru, plays an important role in ghost hunting.

Hawes is founder of the society, known as TAPS, headquartered in Warwick, R.I. And, he is the star and co-founder of Sci-fy/NBC’s longest-running, unscripted reality television show, marking its eighth season. “Ghost Hunters” airs in nearly 170 countries around the world.

In addition, Hawes played a major role in the organization of Ghost Hunters International and Ghost Hunters Academy, both of which also are featured on the Sci-Fi network.

As technical manager and evidence analyst, Gonsalves is responsible for training TAPS members on use of high tech equipment. An educator on the subject of paranormal phenomena for more than a decade, Gonsalves looks forward to the Lily Dale event.

TAPS – with branch groups across the country – is regarded as one of the most highly respected paranormal investigative organizations in the nation. Hawes and Gonsalves invite fans and newcomers to join the TAPS team, described as “everyday people who investigate otherworldly comings and goings.” And, they promise a private, backstage meet-and-greet session during which they will chat with 10 random ticket holders.

On the way to the auditorium, check out the Artisans’ Guild Annual Plants, Crafts and Curiosities Sale at the bandstand near the Maplewood Hotel. It’s an opportunity to stock up on plants, all nurtured in Lily Dale gardens. Also, visitors will find hand-crafted jewelry and many more treasures. The sale runs daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 20-28. Proceeds are tagged for Andrew Jackson Davis Lyceum improvements.
