Summer Swim Program To Begin

STAR Swimming Jamestown will be offering a five-week summer swimming program beginning Monday through Aug. 9. Practices will be Monday through Friday at the Jamestown High School pool from 6:308 a.m. coached by Brad Johnson. A three-week second session will also be available from 10-11:30 a.m. coached by Glen Shoup from Monday through Friday, July 26. Southwestern Board To Meet

The Southwestern Central School Board will hold an organizational/regular meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Education room, located in the middle school.

Bemus Point Sets Meeting

The Bemus Point Board of Education will hold its regular board meeting Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the board room at Maple Grove High School, Dutch Hollow Road. The public is welcome.

Cemetery Program Set For Tuesday

FREWSBURG – On Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., Gary Olson will be presenting a program on St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at the Myers Memorial Library in Frewsburg. The program will include information on the restoration of the cemetery that has been done by volunteers and some of the future planned projects. The cemetery is scheduled to be re-dedicated in August. For more information, you may call the library at 569-5515. The library’s summer hours are in effect: Monday and Wednesday 1-8 p.m., Tuesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday 2-5 p.m. The library is closed Saturdays during the summer.

Artists Group Sets Meeting

The Chautauqua County Society of Artists will be meeting at the Celoron Community Building on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The agenda will include final arrangements for the July 13-14 “Art in the Park” art festival which will be held at Mayville’s Lakeside Park. Membership is not required to participate, but artwork or craftwork, must be original and handmade.

Heritage House Camp Planned

The YMCA Heritage House Child Care Center is offering summer day camp for seven weeks this summer for ages 3-5. The program is licensed through the Office of Children and Family Services and operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon with extended care available. The weekly summer session dates begin Monday and end Aug. 23. Each week features theme based activities and adventures to keep preschoolers learning, growing and having fun all summer long. The weekly cost is $80 for YMCA members and $100 for YMCA potential members.
