CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

CHAUTAUQUA – Salem B. Zarou, 19, of Denver, Colo., was charged at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday with unlawful possession of marijuana. Zarou was found to have a small quantity of marijuana on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution. He is scheduled to appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA – Luke M. Fraley, 24, of Jamestown was charged at 2:48 a.m. on Wednesday with felony driving while intoxicated, blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, moving from lane unsafely, speeding and leaving the scene of a property-damage accident. Deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Morris Road. Police learned Fraley was operating his Ford sedan southbound when he left the roadway and struck a street sign and utility pole. He was later found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. A check of Fraley’s license showed he had a previous DWI conviction in the last 10 years, making the charge a felony. Fraley was released and scheduled to be back in court at a later date.

HANOVER – Carriee L. Clarke, 39, of Leming Road was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child stemming from an incident June 5. Deputies learned Clarke allegedly struck a male juvenile several times on the left side of his head while on Angell Road in the town of Hanover during a domestic dispute. A warrant was issued, and Clarke was taken into custody and arraigned. She is scheduled to be in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Candelaria Victor, 20, was charged at 9 a.m. on Wednesday with third-degree disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Officers responded to Jefferson and West Fourth streets for a report of a male and female fighting in the area. Police found Victor hysterical and yelling that she was trying to be killed. A male nearby was yelling threats at the female. The male ignored police commands and was physically restrained for safety. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and booked without incident.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

Christopher A. Marker, 28, of Frew Run Road, Frewsburg, was charged on June 28 with criminal contempt. Ellicott police responded to a past-tense domestic incident and discovered Marker violated a valid order of protection. A warrant was issued for Marker, who was picked up by police and arraigned in Ellicott Town Court.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

ELLICOTT – Ransford Johnson, 34, of Ashville was charged on Tuesday with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated. Troopers responded to a complaint of a male riding an ATV on Blockville-Watts Flats Road in a reckless manner. Johnson was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody where he provided a breath sample of .22 percent. Troopers learned Johnson had been convicted of DWI twice in the past 10 years, making the charge a felony. He was arraigned in Ellicott Town Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.

KENNEDY – Dwayne Smith, 45, was charged Tuesday with second-degree harassment. Troopers responded to a report of a disorderly male, and found Smith in an intoxicated condition. It was learned Smith allegedly pushed a victim. He is scheduled to be in Poland Town Court at a later date.
