Two Charged After Deputies Find Fireworks Stash
CHAUTAUQUA – Two men were charged Wednesday afternoon after Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies found $2,500 worth of illegal fireworks in their vehicle.
Charged with unlawfully dealing with fireworks and dangerous fireworks were Bertram T. Kennedy, 73, of Tequesta, Fla., and Todd B. Kennedy, 43, of Gates Mills, Ohio. According to a police report, both Kennedys were stopped on Route 430 in the town of Chautauqua at 12:25 p.m. for a traffic stop.
The nature of the traffic stop was not mentioned by police.
During their investigation, deputies seized a large stash of fireworks, totaling $2,500. The fireworks were confiscated as part of the investigation.
Both men were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Chautauqua Court at a later date. Todd Kennedy also was issued uniform traffic tickets.
