CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

HANOVER – Tennyson Twoguns Jr., 55, of Lawtons, was charged at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday with driving while intoxicated common law, driving while intoxicated per se with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or greater and failure to dim highbeams. Deputies stopped a vehicle on Routes 5 and 20 for failing to dim highbeams to oncoming traffic. Twoguns was later found to be intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Hanover Court at a later date.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

Donald A. Baker, 54, of South Erie Street, Mayville, was charged at 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday with petit larceny. Police learned Baker attempted to leave Wal-Mart on Fairmount Avenue without paying for a cellphone. He was issued an appearance ticket to be in Busti Court at a later date.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

FREDONIA – Donald J. McDermott, 25, of Silver Creek, was charged at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday with felony driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Route 438. Troopers said McDermott entered the roadway after passing a road closed sign with a barrier. McDermott failed sobriety tests and was taken into custody. A breath test found his blood alcohol level to be .10 percent. McDermott will be in Brant Court on July 22.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Donald W. Dean Sr. of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after a traffic stop at 43 Sampson St., on Thursday evening. Officers observed a gray Chrysler traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Newland Avenue and Sampson Street. After a stop, Dean was found to be operating the vehicle. A driver’s license check showed Dean’s to be suspended. During an inventory of Dean’s belongings while in custody, he was found to be in possession of what is believed to be cocaine. He also had several drug paraphernalia items in his possession. Dean was held in city jail pending arraignment.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

Georgeanna Culpepper, 37, of Falconer was charged June 26 with second-degree harassment, third-degree assault, driving while intoxicated and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Ellicott police were dispatched to a Falconer business for an assault in progress. While en route, the female left the scene. Culpepper was later found at the intersection of Allen Street Extension and Mason Drive, and later found to be driving while intoxicated. A victim at the business said Culpepper became irate and became physical. She was arraigned in Ellicott Court and released.

Ashley M. Schwabenbauer, 23, of Florida was charged June 26 with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Police stopped a vehicle on Route 60 at Palm Road for speeding. Officers could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. Schwabenbauer was found to be in possession of 25 grams of marijuana and was arraigned in Ellicott Court. She was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.

COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

COLDSPRING – Brian M. Bedell, 37, of Little Valley was charged at 5:42 p.m. on Saturday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, speeding and inadequate brake lights. Bedell is due back in Coldspring Court at a later date.

COLDSPRING – Joseph H. Sluga, 67, was charged at 6:19 p.m. on Sunday with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right following a traffic stop on Lebanon Road. He was processed and released to appear in court at a later date.

ISCHUA – Derek S. Corwin, 26, of Quaker Road, Barker, was charged at 11:18 p.m. on Saturday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, failure to keep right and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He was taken into custody, released to a third party and scheduled to be in court at a later date.
