Update 4:30 p.m.: Two Airlifted From Poland Accident

POLAND – Two people were airlifted Tuesday following an accident at Route 394 and Dry Brook Road in the Town of Poland.

Kennedy and Falconer firefighters were dispatched this afternoon to the intersection. A pickup truck appeared to have struck a car just prior to the intersection, fire officials said.

Kennedy fire Chief Greg Scott said the two people taken by helicopter, both of whom required extrication, were transported to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa. The injuries, Scott said, do not appear to be life-threatening. A third victim was treated at the scene with minor injuries.

Route 394 was closed in both directions as of 4:30 p.m.

Alstar Ambulance, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies, Star Flight and STAT MedEvac were on the scene Tuesday.
