An early morning party in Jamestown turned violent after two people were sent to the emergency room for a shooting and stabbing Sunday. City police say the injuries were non-life-threatening.
According to Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department, officers at WCA Hospital on an unrelated incident were alerted at 5:15 a.m. to two injured people, one of whom was shot in the shoulder and the other stabbed multiple times in the arm and torso.
The victims, whose names were not released, were transported to the hospital by private vehicles, a police report said.
Samuelson said police briefly spoke to the victims and traced the incident back to 517 E. Second St. where a party allegedly took place. Authorities were still processing information Monday.
“This was not a random act of violence. We do know that right now,” Samuelson told The Post-Journal. “This occurred inside the residence, and multiple shots were fired.
“We are asking anyone who may have been there to contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Jamestown police at 483-7531 or the tip line at 483-8477. Calls will be kept confidential.
