Falconer Celebrates 25th After-Prom Party

To The Reader’s Forum:

This year Falconer celebrated their 25th After-Prom Party.

Mr. Penhollow, school superintendent started the evening off with a special open house ceremony in which we honored all of the previous honorees, making special note to Mike Marucci who passed away way too young as our first honoree. Mike was a history teacher at the high school who dedicated himself to the kids. His family was presented with a rose.

Then Penhollow went on to thank all of the people who have made the after-prom parties such a success. Falconer is the only one in Chautauqua County who has had a party for 25 years straight. This could not be done with all the support that is given to us.

Our theme this year was Under The Big Top and 180 children were once again kept safe all night. We had a mechanical bull, bingo, a ton of games, also our casino, and karaoke. Some kids wished that it had lasted longer They walked away with TVs, stereo systems and gift cards. We added a few different food items this year – Fowlers Taffy, sno cones and cotton candy, to name a few, in addition to our regular menu.

This event could not have been possible without the support of the Falconer and surrounding area businesses. There are over 75 local businesses that donate. We would like to thank everyone who participated in one way or another to make this even a success. This event takes at least 100 parents, staff and community members who volunteer their time.

Thank You just does not seem like enough for all who helped out. The fact that the kids are safe and have an enjoyable time is all worth it. Thanks to everyone!
