Kids Night At Eriez Tonight
HAMMETT, Pa. – Kids will be in for a treat at Eriez Speedway as the annual bike give-a-way will be held tonight.
The track’s main sponsors have all decided to pitch in and donate bikes that will be given away from admission tickets. The schedule had also included the JoAnne Clinger Memorial, but a medical emergency in the Clinger family has caused the decision to be made to postpone the special event until later in the season. It has not been cancelled, but the date for this event will be determined in the near future.
Chris Hackett maintains his points lead in the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Model Championship with a 92-point edge over Dave Hess. Neither has registered a win yet in this season, but both are former champions. Third-running Rob Blair has two wins, including last week, and trails Hess by 14 markers. Mike Knight also has two wins and is a former champion, but is out of action due to a non-racing injury. Knight fell to eighth in the standings. Lone wins have been recorded by Boom Briggs and Greg Oakes.
Rich Michael, a three-time winner, leads the way toward the Plyler Overhead Door championship, with a huge 156-point margin before the halfway point of the season. Gary Eicher, winless in 2013, is second and holds a nine-point lead over third-running Joel Watson, the 2012 champion and single winner this season.
Dustin Eckman had a good run in the Conway & O’Malley Limited Late Model feature last week, but Ryan Scott picked up his fourth win of the season and closed the leader’s margin to two points. Chris McGuire is currently third in the standings, 93 points behind Scott.
Eric Ester’s lead fell to only nine points in the Eric Walter Tree & Stump Removal Service Street Stock division. Opening-night winner John Phelps is now second with Mark Thompson third, 51 points in arrears of Phelps.
This year’s Kandy’s Gentleman’s Club Challenger points leader Kasey Hammond enjoys a 184-point lead over second-running Stephen Enlow. Hammond, Enlow, and third-running Wes Stull all have a win apiece.
Admission for all regular racing weekends is $12 for Adults, $10 for seniors, children 6-15 $6, and under 6 free.
