McFall Brothers Hockey School Set For July 15-19

The 21st annual McFall Brothers Hockey School for boys and girls ages 5-14 will be held at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena July 15-19.

For the first time, each of the registered players will have a chance to win one of three ice-fee payment awards for the 2013-2014 hockey season. Participants will be randomly selected on the final day of the camp to receive an award in the amount of $150, $100 or $50. Awards will be paid in the player’s name to their home association for the 2013-2014 season.

The McFall Brothers Hockey program focuses on skills progression in skating, and individual hockey skills and techniques. The hockey school offers three separate group sessions: Mini-Mite group (ages 5-7), Intermediate group (ages 8-10), Advanced group (ages 11-14).

Tom McFall, a fifth-grade teacher at Chautauqua Lake Central School, coordinates the registration and promotion of this event. He is assisted on the ice by John McFall, Jr., a fourth-grade teacher in the Hamburg School District and head coach of the Hamburg Varsity High School hockey team, and Dan McFall, a former member of the Winnipeg Jets of the NHL, who is currently the owner and director of FullStride Hockey Programs in Burlington, Vt.

Each of the three groups at the McFall Brothers Hockey School will be personally run by one or more of the McFall brothers. The school prides itself on providing top-rate instruction. With their combined 75-plus years of hockey instruction experience, Tom, John and Dan will provide age-appropriate, creative on-ice instruction to each group. For the younger group, in particular, the program places great emphasis on creating a fun learning environment where kids can enjoy themselves while advancing their hockey abilities.
