Cemetery Group To Meet Saturday

ONOVILLE – The St. Mary’s Cemetery Restoration Committee meeting is Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Horseshoe Inn in Onoville. All are welcome.

Blood Drive Set For Saturday

ELLINGTON – A Community Blood Bank blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ellington Fire Hall. Donors will be entered to win one of 10 Ellington Fire Department barbecue dinner certificates as well as a $500 Home Depot gift card.

Church Plans Dinner, Movie

CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Community Baptist Church, located at 25 Maple Ave. in the village, will hold a dinner and movie night this Saturday in the Fellowship Hall. The dinner will begin at 5 p.m. and the movie, “Five People You Meet in Heaven” will follow. The dinner and movie night are free and open to everyone.

Library To Host Book Signing

MAYVILLE – The Mayville Library will host author Kolleen Lucariello for a book signing Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Lucariello will have copies of her book, “The ABC’s of Who God Says I Am,” available for purchase. Lucariello currently lives in Parish but is a native of Mayville. For more information, phone the library at 752-7362.

The YWCA Jamestown is currently selling tickets for a drawing for a Weekend of Laughs. The package, presented by YWCA Jamestown, includes: two Lucille Ball Comedy Festival event tickets to GIs of Comedy (Aug. 2), two tickets to Kathleen Madigan (Aug. 2), two tickets to Bill Engvall (Aug. 3); a two-night stay at the Sheldon House Bed and Breakfast (Aug. 2-4); $20 gift certificate to Roberto’s Italian Restaurant; $25 gift certificate to Jones Bakery; $25 gift certificate to Taco Hut; two $20 gift certificates to Babalu Cafe; dinner for two at The Pub … and more. The cost per ticket is $25 and they are available to purchase online at or at the YWCA Jamestown main office located on the corner of Fourth and Main streets in downtown Jamestown at 488-2237. The drawing will be held Wednesday, July 10. Winners need not be present to win. Prize must be claimed by July 19. All of the proceeds benefit local YWCA Jamestown programs.

Veterans’ Van Unavailable

The Chautauqua County Veterans Service Agency has announced that the Chautauqua County Veterans Van to the Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center will not be available for service on Friday, July 5 due to the Independence Day holiday. The shuttle service offered to area veterans will resume its normal operations on Monday, July 8. The Veterans Service Agency apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause for riders.
