Augustina M. “Darlene” Flint

Augustina M. “Darlene” Flint, 87, of Jamestown, passed away Monday (June 24, 2013), in WCA Hospital.

A lifelong area resident, she was born March 7, 1926, in Falconer, the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Marie Pagano Tedesco.

Darlene was a 1944 graduate of Falconer High School, and in earlier years was employed by Porry MacLaine Container and by several insurance agencies. For most of her life Darlene was a dedicated homemaker.

She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church and in earlier years was a member of the former Our Lady of Loreto Catholic School Parents Club.

Darlene was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are five children: Rosemary Hedberg (Michael Andrews), Anthony R. (Joanne) Flint Sr., Regina (Chris) Cardinale, Robert S. Flint II, Darlene Brace (Gerald Heald), (Kevin Brace), all of Jamestown; seven grandchildren: Tricia Hedberg, Kristie Gronquist, Anthony R. Flint Jr., Christina Cardinale, Brittany Brace, Michael L. Johnson, Robert S. (Stacy) Flint III; five great-grandchildren: Eric, Emily and Michelle Gron-quist, Emily and Dilan Flint; a brother, Thomas A. (Nina) Tedesco of James-town; a sister, Joy T. (John) Judski of Falconer and Binghamton, N.Y., and a sister-in-law, Verna L. Tedesco of Falconer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Flint, whom she married June 5, 1946, in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, and who died Oct. 15, 1995; a daughter Carol Sue Flint in 1966; and a brother, William B. Tedesco.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev Darrell Duffy, pastor of St. James Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Altar and Rosary Society of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church will conduct a rosary service at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
