Southwestern Names Students Of The Month

Southwestern Middle School officials recently named students of the month for April and May.

In April, Team 6 chose Faizen Munir, the son of Adnan and Nadia Munir of Lakewood. Faizen is in the sixth grade ,and his favorite subjects are gym and social studies. Outside of school, he plays tennis at the Lakewood YMCA and participated in the Street Jam basketball team. In his free time, he likes to play basketball, football, baseball and hockey with his friends.

Team 7 chose Shane Hetrick, the son of Mark and Sally Hetrick of Jamestown. Shane is in the seventh grade, and his favorite subject is science. He is a member of the Southwestern Cross Country team, where he was Top 10 All-County and also the wrestling team where he had a 17-3 record. Outside of school, he plays baseball on the Southwestern Travel League. In his free time, Shane likes to ride bikes, swim, jump on his trampoline and have water balloon fights with neighborhood friends.

Team 8 chose Tjitze Kranzo, the son of John and Thea Kranzo of Jamestown. Tjitze is in the eighth grade, and his favorite subjects are math, social studies and science. He is a member of the Southwestern soccer team, cross-country team, choir and orchestra. Outside of school, he plays soccer, likes to hang out and play games with family friends.

In May, Team 6 chose Sophia Dixson, the daughter of Aaron and Stacey Dixson, of Jamestown. Sophia is in the sixth grade, and her favorite school subjects are social studies, English Language Arts and math. Sophia is a member of the Southwestern Art Club, orchestra and choir. Outside of school, she belongs to the Southwestern Soccer Club. In her free time, she likes to read, hang out with friends, play soccer and archery.

Team 7 chose Emily Rybicki, the daughter of Rich and Michelle Rybicki of Jamestown. Emily is in the seventh grade, and her favorite subjects are science and social studies. She is a member of the Southwestern swim team and Ski Club. Outside of school, she belongs to the Sharks Swim Team. In her free time, she likes to play outside, hang out with friends and watch movies.

Team 8 chose Jacob Lucas, the son of Gary and Loretta Lucas of Jamestown. Jacob is in the eighth grade, and his favorite subject is science. Outside of school, he is a member of the Chautauqua County Snowmobile Club. In his free time, he likes to play paintball, ride his four-wheeler and play on his XBox.
