Lakewood Board To Meet Monday

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Board of Trustees will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Village Board Room. The public is invited to attend. A work session will precede the meeting at 6 p.m.

SWCS Board Sets Meeting

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will hold a work session Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the middle school library. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct school business. The public is welcome to attend.

Fitness Center Open House Set

WESTFIELD – The YWCA Westfield Fitness Center will hold an open house Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. The open house is an opportunity to see the newly installed cardio equipment and meet the sales rep from Advantage Sport and Fitness, the supplier of the new equipment. In addition there will be information available on the insurance plans the fitness center accepts, the newly expanded contracts that feature unlimited use and a chance to register for door prizes.

Seminar Set For Wednesday

Chautauqua Physical and Occupational Therapy will be hosting a seminar Wednesday at Riverwalk Center, 15 S. Main St., Suite 220, Jamestown, from 5:30-7 p.m. Residents will learned about therapy solutions for arthritic hip and knee pain. Light refreshments will be served.

Historical Society Plans Picnic

CELORON – The Chautauqua County Historical Society’s annual picnic will take place at Lucille Ball Memorial Park in Celoron on Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. In addition to spending a summer evening with others interested in local history, attendees will also hear from Authors Kathleen Crocker and Jane Currie, who released their fifth book together earlier this year entitled “Legendary Locals: The Chautauqua Lake Region.” The two will take time to discuss the work it took to put the book together as well as sign copies for those in attendance. The event is free and open to the public. Anyone planning to attend is asked to bring a dish to pass. The picnic and lecture will take place rain or shine under the pavilion in the park. Class Of ’78 Plans Reunion

The Jamestown High School Class of 1978 35th class reunion will be July 5-6. Featured will be a tour of the school on Friday, an establishment of a memorial scholarship fund honoring deceased classmates and an informal get-together at 7 p.m. in Shawbucks. A dinner/dance will be held at the Jamestown Train Station. Registration will be at 6 p.m., followed by dinner. The next Cattaraugus County Planning Board meeting is Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Large Committee Room, third floor, Cattaraugus County Center, 303 Court St., Little Valley.
