Endless Love Or Endless Gall?

To The Reader’s Forum:

Regarding the article that appeared in the June 21 issue of The Post-Journal about the opening of Endless Love.

What is the purpose of having zoning laws if a business can just go ahead and open in spite of not having the necessary special-use permit, there being a six-month moratorium in place on issuing special-use permits, and a citation being issued against the business for opening without the required permits? I would say that the owner of Endless Love is showing endless gall!

Also, in light of this flagrant disrespect shown toward the Village of Lakewood and its procedures, I wonder how much credence we can place on the many promises that the owner made which were quoted in the article that appeared in the April 18 edition of this paper regarding signage, covered windows, and carding customers.

No matter which side you are on in the debate as to whether or not a business of this type is desirable in Lakewood, the actions we are seeing on the part of the owner lead me to wonder if she intends to be a good neighbor who will have a positive impact on our community.
