Nancy V. (Gustafson) Burgess

EAST ROCHERSTER, N.H. – Nancy V. (Gustafson) Burgess, 69, of 62 Temple Drive, died Friday June 14, 2013, at her home, after a brief illness.

Born Jan. 6, 1944, in Jamestown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Albin and Elsa (Sjoqvist) Gustafson.

Nancy has lived in Rochester since 2006, after moving from Zeeland Mich. She was a past member of the Women’s Missionary Council of Webster, N.Y. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, singing, playing piano and accordion. She was a great cook, and was able to sew anything for her family. She was a devoted wife mom and friend.

Members of her family include her husband of 46 years, Alexander Burgess of East Rochester; a son, Robert Burgess and his wife, Gigi, of Stafford, Va., Alexander M. Burgess IV and his wife, Erin, of Haverhill Mass.; his daughters: Linda J. Nord and her husband, Stephen, of Mora Minn., and Lisa B. Hawkes and her husband, Tom, of Edmonds, Wash.; her brother, the Rev. Kenneth L. Gustafson of Union, Conn.; a sister, Lillian Gustafson of Jamestown N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Donations may be made to the Cornerstone Visiting Nurses Association; or to the Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

There are no calling hours.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, at 2 p.m., at the True Memorial Baptist Church on Ten Rod Road in Rochester.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery on Wednesday June 26 at 11 a.m., in Jamestown, N.Y.
