Open House Set For Today

The new highway building located at 3539 Route 394 in Stow will be hosting an open house today from 9 a.m. until noon. Dan Strickland, North Harmony highway superintendent, will be available to answer questions about the building and the department. Additionally, the town board will be checking dump stickers during that time period. The public is welcomed to attend.

Bridge League Names Winners

In duplicate play on June 13, Patricia Fincher and Bill Kuppinger took first-place honors in the Jamestown Area Bridge League weekly game, with the team of Jane Roos and Jackie Scalise tied for second with Fran McCarren and Linda Hubbard. The league meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. at the Busti-Lakewood Community Center, 9 W. Summit, Lakewood. On Thursday, there will be a potluck dinner at 6 p.m., with bridge to follow at 7. Ellicott To Host Rabies Clinic

FALCONER – The annual free rabies vaccination clinic will be held at the town of Ellicott highway garage, 235 E. Mosher St., Falconer, from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday. Dr. Mary Fales will be administering the shots. No wild or exotic animals will be vaccinated. All animals must be accompanied by an adult; dogs must be on a leash; cats are to be brought in a container; know the age and breed of animal; know the name of the town where you reside so certificates can be provided to town clerks; bring only healthy animals; and bring your animal’s previous rabies vaccination record, if available.

Celoron Concert Series Begins

CELORON – The Celoron summer concert series starts today. Concerts will start at 6:30 p.m. and end around 8:30 p.m. The concerts will be held in the Desi Arnaz Bandshell at Lucille Ball Memorial Park. In case of rain, the concerts will be held in the community center at the park. Hot dogs and drinks will be sponsored by the Celoron United Methodist Church. The bands performing include Happy Days today; Rustic Ramblers June 26; Jackson Rohm July 10; Infinity student soloist July 24; and Nick Battistella Sinatra tribute Aug. 7.

County Planning Board To Meet

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Planning Board has scheduled a special workshop meeting to provide the board an opportunity to work on the annual Capital Project Report.
