CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

SILVER CREEK – Shawn A. Winkelmann, 39, of Tew Street, was charged at 1:41 a.m. Sunday with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater, unsafe lane change and failure to signal a turn. Deputies stopped a vehicle on Howard Street for a traffic violation. Winkelmann was later found to be intoxicated. A check of his license found he had a prior conviction for driving while intoxicated within the past 10 years. As a result, charges were upgraded to a felony. Winkelmann was taken into custody and released with uniform traffic tickets to appear in Silver Creek Court at a later date.

HANOVER – Dimitrios A. Landis, 22, of Fredonia, was charged at 2:11 a.m. on Sunday with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater and failure to stop at a stop sign. Deputies observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign in Sunset Bay. Landis was found to be intoxicated and was processed. He was released with traffic citations to appear in Hanover Court at a later date.

HANOVER – David W. Kleis, 21, of Homestead Road, Hamburg, was charged at 4:42 a.m. on Saturday with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, moving from lane unsafely and driving across hazard markings. Deputies stopped a vehicle on Routes 5 and 20 for traffic violations. Kleis was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was later released to appear in Hanover Court at a later date.

HANOVER – Jeffrey A. Parisio, 23, of Silver Creek, was charged on Saturday with having an illegal open burn. Deputies were called to assist Silver Creek firefighters with a conservation complaint. Parisio was taken into custody and issued an appearance ticket to be in court at a later date.

HANOVER – Thomas A. Cuccia, 60, of Fredonia, was charged at 6:53 p.m. on Saturday with unsafe backing, driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater. Deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of Dennison and King roads. Police said Cuccia failed to negotiate a left-hand turn and entered a lawn. He then backed up while in reverse across the road into a ditch. Cuccia was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was issued appearance tickets and will be in Hanover Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Robert E. Ackler, of Jamestown, was charged at 6:13 p.m. on Saturday with two counts of second-degree menacing and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Susann M. Caldwell, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree harassment. Emir Herrera and Samantha Hitchcock, both of Jamestown, were charged with second-degree harassment. Officers responded to Park Street for a report of a fight outside a residence. When police arrived, tenants from upstairs and downstairs were having a verbal argument outside. All were charged and transported to Jamestown City Jail without incident. They were held pending arraignment.
