Be Closed Today
PORTLAND – Chautauqua County Route 380 between Beech Hill Road and Parcell Road in the town of Portland will be closed to traffic today and Tuesday. County crews will be replacing a culvert during this time period. A detour will not be posted.
Harrison Street To Be Closed Today
Harrison Street between Foote Avenue and Winsor Street in the city of Jamestown will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today. County crews will be paving Harrison Street during this time. A detour will be posted.
Bridge On Route 70 Is Now Open
STOCKTON – The Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities announced Chautauqua County Bridge No. 1069 on county Route 70 is now open.
Annual Lunch To Be Held June 25

Ceremony Is Today
FREWSBURG – American Legion Samuel L. Derby Post 556 will hold a flag-burning ceremony today at 6 p.m. Anyone wanting to dispose of unserviceable flags bring them to the post.
Falconer Seniors To Meet June 24
FALCONER – Falconer Senior Citizens will meet at noon Monday, June 24, in Falconer Park. Members attending should take a dish or dessert to pass. Forty-five seniors attended a recent lunch meeting which was opened with a flag salute and prayers. The treasurer’s report was given, and Frank Fonti spoke on a bus trip to Presque Isle, Italian festival and the Erie Casino. Incentives were won by Virginia Destro, Blondie Foti, Jenny Cosenza, Rose Germonto and Judy Parsons.
Computer Classes To Begin Tuesday
LAKEWOOD – A new session of computer classes will be held at Lakewood Memorial Library. Classes start June 18 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:30-11:30. The library is located at 12 W. Monthly SCOPE Meeting Is Tuesday
MAYVILLE – The monthly meeting for Shooters Committee On Political Education will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, at the V.F.W. Post, Memorial Drive, Mayville. Due to conflicts, meeting dates have been changed to the third Tuesday of each month. Membership and organizational activities will be addressed. New York Sen. Cathy Young is scheduled to speak at the July meeting. The public is invited to attend.
