Multiple Sclerosis To Be Community Seniors Subject

Allen Wilcox will present the program when the Community Senior Fellowship meets at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25. Wilcox and his wife Valerie are the parents of one grown daughter. He is a graduate of Jamestown High School. During World War II, he served first with the United States Merchant Marines from 1944-45, sailing in the Murmanski Sea area. After World War II, he received a commemorative medal from the Russian government for his involvement. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1945-46.As a multi-department manager, Wilcox retired from Sears, Roebuck and Company as Division 200 manager, known as the catalog department with a total of 25 years of service. He has been an advocate for multiple sclerosis for more than 30 years. He will speak about its debilitating effects and research from his personal viewpoint.

Devotion time will be offered by Tara Eastman, First Lutheran Church intent. Mrs. Eastman, her husband and children, reside in Jamestown. Her affiliation with First Lutheran Church began in October 2008 as youth and family ministry director. She continues her studies through, and at the Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. Her year-long duties will continue to include visitation and preaching along with numerous commitments in the church and community.

Refreshments will be under the direction of Gladys Peterson, assisted by Roland A. Swanson, Elaine Larson, Jackie Anderson, Robert Utter and James Walrod.
