Flag Ceremony Set For Tonight

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood American Legion will have a flag ceremony tonight at 7 p.m. Jules R Us karaoke will be the entertainment, with a karaoke contest until 10 p.m. Dinners will be served from 5-9 p.m. All members and guests are welcome.

Rap Session Set For Saturday

The Chautauqua Region Multiple Sclerosis Rap Group will hold its monthly ”rap session” from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Jones Hill Memorial Rehabilitation Center auditorium, 51 Glasgow Ave., Jamestown. This open discussion support group meeting is available to all those dealing with MS, their family and friends. Weed Pull Set For Saturday

KIANTONE – Due to recent heavy rain, volunteers should be prepared to wade in knee-deep water Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Audubon’s Big Pond during a search for aquatic invasive plants. Volunteers are asked to bring sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, leather gloves and waders if possible. Also needed are kayaks, life vests, snowshoes, poles and rakes. For more information, call 569-2345.

Car Show Set For Sunday

The War Vets Recreation Club will sponsor its annual Father’s Day car show from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Trophies and awards are expected to be awarded at about 4 p.m. In addition to the kitchen being open from noon to 6 p.m., there will also be a chicken barbecue with a limited number of dinners available.

Van Miller Tourney Begins Today

DUNKIRK – The Van Miller Hometown Hero Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament presented by Lake Shore Savings Bank starts today at Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk. The fifth annual golf tournament funds a scholarship for two outstanding Dunkirk High School seniors. The honorary emcee for this year’s event will be former Buffalo Bills player Mark Kelso. Panama Banquet Set For Saturday

PANAMA – The Panama Central School Alumni Banquet will be held Saturday at the Rowdy Rooster, Panama. Registration and social hour will be from 5-6 p.m. with dinner to follow. Cost is $18 per person.
