Walking Tours Continue Today
Mayor Sam Teresi will hold the next in his series of Neighborhood Walking Tours at 6:30 p.m. today on Dearing Avenue from Hotchkiss Avenue to Falconer Street. The door-to-door visit will provide residents with an opportunity to express comments or concerns in a one-on-one environment with Teresi.
Lecture Series Continues
Bob Johnston is the guest speaker for the Fenton History Center’s Brown Bag lecture on Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. Johnston will speak about Jamestown’s trolley system and the Car 93 restoration project. Class Of ’63
To Meet Friday
The Chautauqua Central School Class of 1963 will meet for a tureen supper at 6 p.m. Friday in the Mayville Lakeside Park Carlson Community Center. Table service and beverage will be provided. Anyone who was a part of this class at any time is invited to attend. Alumni will also meet for breakfast from 9-11 a.m. Saturday in the Rowdy Rooster, Panama. No reservations are required. Ordering will be from the menu. All Chautauqua School alumni are invited to attend. The class will also be honored at the alumni banquet on Saturday evening in the Chautauqua Fire Hall.
Artists Meeting Canceled Today
CELORON – The Chautauqua County Society of Artists meeting scheduled for today at 6 p.m. in the picnic shelter at Celoron park has been canceled due to the high possibility of inclement weather. The next meeting will be Tuesday, July 9, at 6 p.m. in the Celoron Community Building.
AAUW To Hold Garage Sale
The Jamestown AAUW Branch is holding a garage sale on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The sale will take place at 186 Hallock St., Jamestown, at the corner of Ellis Street. Among the many items on sale are toys, clothing, shoes, purses, lots of books, household and decorative items. The only payment accepted is cash. All proceeds from the sale will help women further their education.
Support Group To Meet
The Breast Cancer Support Group of Jamestown will be meeting Wednesday at Friendly’s. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m., speakers Sandra Ahlgren and Chris Anderson from Heritage Ministries will be speaking on a new view of aging. The program is an upbeat, fun and interactive program about 21st century seniors. A Breast Cancer Support Group booth is now set up every Saturday at Crossroads from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
