Helen Foster of Lutheran Haven Assisted Living Facility, Oviedo, Fla., went to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 6, 2013.
She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Little Valley, N.Y., the daughter of John and Augusta Buelow. She married Allan Foster on Aug. 18, 1939. They celebrated their 70th wedding an-niversary in 2009.
Helen was a homemaker, and worked in several dif-ferent offices, retiring from Dahlstrom Mfg. in Jamestown, N.Y. She and her hus-band were charter members of Chautauqua Squares dancing group and continued square dancing for 35 years.
She and her husband were active members of St. Michaels Lutheran Church in Little Valley, N.Y. Upon their retirement in 1975, they moved to Sarasota, Fla., where they were active members of Concordia Lutheran Church. In 1990 she and her husband moved to Lutheran Haven Retirement Center in Oviedo, and joined St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan in 2009; daughter, Karen in 1966; her parents; and her brother, Herman.
Helen is survived by her son, Kenneth (Barbara) Nunica, Mich.; grandson Mathew (Julie) of Kalamazoo, Mich.; granddaughter, Maija (Edgar) Bejarano of Muskegon, Mich.: great granddaughters: Grace and Shelby Foster and Iliana and Ariana Bejarano and great-grandson, Edgar Emiliano “Milo” Bejarano. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Shirly Buelow of Little Valley, N.Y.; and special cousin, Elaine (Ken) Folkes of Sun City, Ariz.
Services will be held in the chapel at the Lutheran Haven Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facility, 1525 Haven Drive, Oviedo, FL 32765 on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Lutheran Haven Benevolent Care Fund, 2041 West State Road, 426, Oviedo, FL 32765.
