Betty Marie Johnson

Betty Marie Johnson, 83, a native of Jamestown, N.Y., and a Lynchburg, Va. resident for almost 11 years, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, in Virginia Baptist Hospital.

Born Aug. 30, 1929, she was the daughter of the late C. Henry Lundin and Agnes Anderson Lundin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers: Vernon Lundin, Norman Lundin and Wallace Lundin.

Betty was a graduate of Jamestown High School. and had worked as a medi-cal transcriptionist for Jamestown Radiologists for 17 years. Active in church all of her life, she was a member of Forest Presbyterian Church in Forest, Va,, and prior to moving to Virginia, had been a life-long member of First Covenant Church in Jamestown, N.Y., where she and her husband, Paul were married on Oct. 15, 1949.

Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul R. Johnson; five children: Janet L. Johnson of Forest, Va., Daniel P. Johnson and his wife, Mary, of Apalachin, N.Y., Gary A. Johnson of Forest, Dianne C. Locascio and her husband, David of Lynchburg, and Mark D. Johnson and his wife, Laurel also of Lynchburg; eight grandchildren: Brita Terry, Daniel Johnson II, Rebecca DePriest, Bryan Locascio, Paul Locascio, Andrew Locascio, Lukas Johnson, and Erik Johnson; and three great-grandchildren, Wes-ley DePriest, Wyatt Terry, and Dallas Terry.

A memorial service and celebration of Betty’s life will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2013, at First Covenant Church, 520 Spring St., Jamestown, N.Y., led by David B. Lar-son. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Covenant Church.
