Arts Council To Host Film Competition, Group Guitar Lessons
The Arts Council For Chautauqua County will host a short film competition and group guitar lessons this month.
Insomniac Competitive Film Festival will begin Friday at the Reg Studio Theater in Jamestown. From 3 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday, teams of filmmakers will conceive, film, edit and deliver a short, original piece of cinema. A select number of elements from a predetermined list must be evident in the final product in order to qualify for the final competition.
Those making the cut will be screened before a public audience on Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Reg Studio Theater. The screening is open to the public.
Competitors must be registered and pay the entry fee of $20 by Wednesday at 6 p.m.

On June 18 at 7 p.m., area guitar player and teacher Spencer Drake will begin weekly group guitar lessons in the Reg Studio Theater. These lessons are intended for adults ages 22 and older with no previous guitar experience and a desire to learn the instrument. Students need an acoustic or electric guitar. No amplifiers are allowed.
The group guitar lessons will continue on Tuesday evenings, June 25, July 2, July 9 and July 16. A $75 fee per participant will cover the five lessons.
