Jamestown Resident Charged For Stealing Pills

A Jamestown woman was charged on Friday after police said she stole prescription pills from a residence after asking to use their bathroom.
Hillary E. Danforth, 21, was charged with petit larceny and felony tampering with physical evidence. According to the Jamestown Police Department, a resident contacted officers after Danforth asked to use their restroom and allegedly went through their medicine cabinet.
During their investigation, city police learned Danforth had gone to several residences in the area and attempted to take prescription pills. Police did not say how many pills were stolen.
After locating the Jamestown woman, police said she attempted to discard a pill bottle on the ground. According to a police report, the bottle belonged to a resident Danforth had visited Friday.
Danforth was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail. She was awaiting arraignment.
