JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Robert J. Kobel, 21, of 433 Stowe St., Jamestown, was charged with speeding, no/improper signal, driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI on Saturday at 1:18 a.m. Officers stopped Kobel on Washington Street at West 17th Street for no signaling a lane change and speeding. Kobel was found to be operating his vehicle in a highly intoxicated state. He was taken to City Jail and is awaiting arraignment.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

DUNKIRK – Richard Godbey, 55, of Brocton was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and leaving the scene of a property-damage accident Friday at 11:37 p.m. Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle going off the road and striking a guide rail, then fleeing the scene. Deputies located a license plate at the scene which led officers to the registered owner’s residence. Further investigation after the vehicle was located led to Godbey being charged. He was released with traffic tickets and will appear in Town of Dunkirk Court at a later date.

DUNKIRK – Christian Donaldson, 25, of 72 Commodore Ave., Tonawanda, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana Friday at 8:21 p.m. Deputies stopped Donaldson for a traffic violation and an investigation led to the possession of marijuana charge. Donaldson will appear in Town of Dunkirk Court at a later date.

HANOVER – Joseph P. Comstock, 30, of Edwards Corners Road, Perrysburg, was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI per se Saturday at 4:11 a.m. Deputies were attempting to check a suspicious vehicle at a local business on Routes 5 & 20 in Hanover when the vehicle attempted to leave the area. Deputies stopped the vehicle and upon further investigation, Comstock was found to be operating in an intoxicated state. Comstock was taken into custody and later released to appear in Town of Hanover Court at a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA – Henry B. Stovall, 35, of Dunkirk was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI per se on Saturday at 12:54 a.m. Deputies on patrol on Route 430 in Chautauqua observed a vehicle allegedly speeding. After a stop, Stovall was found to be the operator and further investigation led to the DWI charges. Stovall was released to appear in Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.

DUNKIRK – Adam C. Gonzalez, 28, of Fredonia was charged with petit larceny on Saturday at 11:50 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to TJ Maxx on Vineyard Drive for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Loss prevention allegedly observed Gonzalez stealing items. He was issued an appearance ticket for Town of Dunkirk Court at a later date.
