Jamestown Women Charged With Petit Larceny

LAKEWOOD – Two women have been charged with petit larceny after police said they attempted to purchase an item at Wal-Mart by switching price tags.

After an investigation by the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, police charged Nicole E. Bennett, 23, of Bradmar Circle, and Jenna R. Crouch, 23, of East Main Street, both of Jamestown.

According to a police report, both women entered Wal-Mart on Fairmount Avenue on May 25 and selected a car seat. In the process, police said, they allegedly changed the price of the item, reflecting another car seat with a lower value.

Bennett and Crouch were charged Tuesday. They are scheduled to appear in Busti Court on June 13 for arraignment.
