JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

A 16-year-old male was charged at 8:36 p.m. on Sunday with third-degree assault. Officers responded to McKinley Avenue for a past-tense assault. Police located the victim with multiple injuries to her face. An investigation led officers to the youth, who was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail without incident. He was awaiting arraignment.

Marie E. Smith, 40, was charged at 5:18 a.m. on Sunday with second-degree harassment. Jason S. Smith, 43, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Buffalo Street. Jason Smith was found to have violated an order of protection. During their investigation, Marie Smith was found to have struck a male victim, scratching his eye. Both were transported to Jamestown City Jail and were held pending arraignment.

Matthew S. Jones, 26, was charged at 1:50 a.m. on Sunday with second-degree harassment. Officers responded to Bullfrog Hotel on East Second Street for a report of a fight. Police learned Jones punched and kicked the bartender of the establishment. He was transported to city jail and released on bail.

Rebecca A. Johnson, 22, was taken into custody at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday after police responded to Stowe Street for a report of a fight. During their investigation, police learned Johnson was wanted for failure to appear in court on previous charges. She was transported to city jail and was awaiting arraignment.

Lisa K. Gilbert, 56, was taken into custody after officers discovered Sunday she had a probation violation warrant out of Jamestown City Court. Officers found Gilbert arguing with another female outside a local establishment.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

HANOVER – Yarimar M. Cruz, 20, of Buffalo, was charged at 7:09 p.m. on Sunday with driving while intoxicated common law, driving while intoxicated per se and failure to stop at a stop sign. Deputies observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign in the Sunset Bay area. Cruz was stopped and was found to be operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. She was taken into custody and provided a chemical test to determine her blood alcohol level. Cruz was released with appearance tickets and will appear in Hanover Court at a later date.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

ASHFORD – Miles H. Kester, 53, of Middle Road, Springville, was charged at 1:24 a.m. on Saturday with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater and failure to keep right. Kester was taken into custody following a traffic stop on Dutch Hill Road. Kester was processed and released to appear in court at a later date.
