Altar And Rosary Society To Meet

Bag Sale To Begin Tuesday

Community Helping Hands will hold its Summer Bag Sale beginning Tuesday and running through June 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Anything that can fit in a bag will cost $1 with new items added every day. Atheist Forum Set For Tuesday

Veritas (Truth) First will hold a public forum on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. the Prendergast Library. Veritas First will respond to the emerging New Atheism advanced by Richard Dawkins, the late Christopher Hitchens and Sam Harris. The forum will provide a response from a Christian worldview perspective to this new form of atheism by utilizing clips from Christian apologists Ravi Zacharias and William Craig Lane. They will show the reasonable and logically sound basis for the existence of God and the truth of Scripture. Pastors Jeff Short and Mel McGinnis will offer an apologetic for the faith of Christianity and point out the intellectual weaknesses of atheism. The forum will address issue related to the recent natural disaster in Moore, Okla.: if God is all-powerful, why did He allow the tornado? The public is welcome to attend and engage in civil discussion following the presentation. This forum is not endorsed by the library.

Planning Board To Meet Tuesday

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Planning Board has scheduled the annual capital project review meeting for Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Gerace Office Building, in Mayville in Room 331. Swim Lessons Begin Tuesday

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club is offering a “Get Ready For Summer” three-week swim lesson session. The sessions will run from Tuesday through June 21. Levels 1-2 will meet at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays for 45-minute sessions. Levels 3-4 will meet at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursday for 45 -minute sessions. The cost for all six sessions is $18. Historical Society To Meet Tuesday
