A city man is in jail following a hit-and-run accident Thursday. Jamestown police responded to a motor vehicle accident at the corner of E. Second and Winsor streets around 6 p.m. According to police, witnesses said a vehicle involved fled the scene after striking a yellow VW Beatle. A 4-year-old girl was injured in the crash and taken to WCA. Police were able to locate the vehicle involved and identified the driver as Nicholas Hatch, 23, who was found to be intoxicated. Hatch was charged with passing a red traffic light, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, DWI and DWI per se. He will be in city court next week.
