Bemus Point Study Club To Host Tea At The Lenhart

BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Study Club will once again host its annual Tea at the Lenhart event on Sunday.

“This is our ninth Tea at the Lenhart,” said Bebe Johnston, co-owner of the Lenhart Hotel. “It’s a great event, and every year it just keeps getting better.”

The event, which is held by the Bemus Point Study Club, is an annual fundraising event for the Bemus Point Public Library. Although the primary purpose of the study club is to raise money for the library, it also meets the first Monday of every month from October through May to enjoy programs of interest.

The guest speaker for this year’s event will be Joni Blackman, Fenton Historical Society director. The topic of discussion will be “Victorian women.”

Guests attending the event, which begins at 2 p.m., will be served a potluck dinner, prepared by the members of the study club and included in the price of admission. Guests will also have the opportunity to win several baskets as part of a giveaway. Tickets for the giveaway will be available at the event, at the price of $5 for an arms length.

“The meal will be served in our Victorian dining room,” said Johnston. “The Lenhart has been gracious enough to provide the venue for this event, free of charge, for the past nine years.”

Tickets for the event will be available for purchase at the Bemus Point Library. Tickets will be $12 each, and tickets will also be available at the door, if tickets are not sold-out prior to the event.

“Any money we take in from this event goes straight to the library,” said Johnston. “Last year we raised over $1,000, so of course we’d like to be able to make a donation of that size again.”

The winner for an annual drawing which gives away a night’s stay at the Lenhart Hotel will also be drawn at the event. Although guests do not need to be present at the event to win, this is the last week which tickets for the giveaway can be purchased. Tickets for the night at the Lenhart are $5 for one, or $25 for six. The Bemus Point Study Club is also responsible for the night at the Lenhart giveaway, and all money raised through the giveaway will go toward the Bemus Point Library.

“This event is very popular and has sold-out every year,” said Johnston. “The residents of the Bemus Point area have always supported us, and we really can’t thank them enough.”
