Ruth Lydia Fiebelkorn
RANDOLPH – Ruth Lydia Fiebelkorn, 84, of Main Street, Randolph, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2013, surrounded by her family while under the care of hospice following a short illness.
She was born on Dec. 5, 1928, in Patterson, N.J., the daughter of the late Henry Walter and Lydia Schwartz Priess.
Ruth was a graduate of Ridgewood High and attended secretarial school in Ridgewood, N.J.
She worked at the Leon Milk Plant in Leon, N.Y., where she met her late husband Clair “Jim” Fiebelkorn, whom she married on May 30, 1951.
In addition to being a homemaker, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed taking care of her home, celebrating many birthdays and holidays at home. Ruth was an avid follower of all sports, but her No. 1 was NASCAR racing, following her “boys,” especially Carl Edwards.
She was a member of the East Randolph United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Association of which she was the secretary for many years, as well as a treasurer for many years of the Randolph Area Golden Keys. Ruth loved the Lord and had great knowledge of the Bible. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but she is now home at peace with the Lord.
She is survived by two sons: James B. Fiebelkorn and Mark Fiebelkorn and wife Tammy, all of Randolph; a daughter, Dawn Slater and husband Patrick of Apollo Beach, Fla.; a brother, Henry Priess and wife Marianne of Boston, Mass.; a nephew, Henry Priess Jr. and niece, Katie Priess of Massachusetts; and seven grandchildren: Shane Slater and wife Audina and their children: Easton and Reagan Ruth Slater all of Puyallup, Wash., Summer Slater of Lafayette, La., and Dylan, Morgan and Madison Fiebelkorn and Samantha and Skyler Fiebelkorn, all of Randolph, N.Y.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Lydia; and husband, Jim.
The family invites you to join them in celebrating Ruth’s life on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at the East Randolph United Methodist Church, Church Street, East Randolph, N.Y. The Rev. Rodney Mileham, pastor, will officiate. Visitation will not be observed.
