BPU Closed For Memorial Day

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities Customer Service Office and other administrative offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

There will be no garbage pickup on Monday. Residents whose garbage normally is picked up on Monday should place their garbage and recyclables at the curb after 6 p.m. Monday evening for pickup on Tuesday along with Tuesday’s regular garbage collection. Garbage and recyclables on Tuesday may be collected at a later time than normal due to the holiday. The recyclable for the week of May 28 will be glass.

BPU Customer Service will reopen for business at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Customers who need to pay bills after hours may leave checks in dropoff boxes located at the top of the BPU’s “D” driveway, 92 Steele St.; outside City Hall on Tracy Plaza; inside the vestibule of the Jamestown Police Department entrance on Second Street; and outside the Town of Ellicott Building on Work Street. Payments left after-hours should only be made by check. Customers are reminded that bills may be paid online by credit, debit or e-check; details about the online payment system may be found on the BPU home page at www.jamestownbpu.com

For reports of trouble in all BPU Divisions, all hours, customers may call 661-1640.
