Police Seek Alleged Marijuana Grower

Jamestown Police drug investigators have 59 marijuana plants in custody, but are still seeking the man they believe to be responsible for growing them.

City officers joined members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team executing a search warrant Thursday at 10 a.m. at 146 Barrows St., Jamestown, after an investigation into the illegal growing of marijuana. Inside the location, investigators discovered 59 individually potted marijuana plants as well as multiple items of equipment used in the growing process. A .50 caliber muzzle loader rifle was also located in the residence.

The investigation has revealed that the growing operation was coordinated by Marcus Caceres, 26, of Jamestown, but he was not at the residence at the time of the search.

Warrants for Caceres have been obtained to charge him with unlawfully growing marijuana and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Caceres is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 483-7537 or an anonymous tip can be left at 483-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
