Women’s Club

To Meet Friday

The Westside Women’s Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Friday in the Bethel Lutheran Church. Kathi Conti will present ”Aspects of Skin Care.” Hostesses will be Carole Colter, Janet Anderson and Joanne Reale. Nineteen members and one guest attended a recent lunch meeting. Colter requested donations be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society. Marilyn Ryan-Piper gave a piano concert. Veterans Asked To March In Busti

BUSTI – All town of Busti residents who served in the armed forces are invited to take part in the Busti community’s annual Memorial Day parade on Monday. The event will form up at 8:30 a.m. at the former New Beginnings Restaurant on Sugar Grove Road, with the parade stepping off at 9 a.m. Veterans are welcome to come in regulation uniform or street clothes, with or without their ribbons, medals and awards. Those who want to walk can walk the parade route, but a flat bed float will be provided. The town’s most senior veterans will be chauffeured in one of the parade’s antique cars. After the memorial service the Busti gazebo, all are invited to breakfast at the Busti Fire Department.

Outdoor Club To Hike Trails Today

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike five miles on the trails at Tionesta Lake today. Participants will meet at the park office building at the lake. From Tionesta, drive south one mile on Route 36, then turn left at the sign for Tionesta Lake. For more information call Charlene James at 814-463-7394 or cell 814-516-6595.

Hold Book Sale

LITTLE VALLEY – A book sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Memorial Library of Little Valley, with a bag sale starting at 1 p.m. Donations of adult and children’s books, DVDs, CDs and videos will be accepted through Thursday. Materials not accepted include encyclopedias dated before 2001 or Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, as they do not sell. For more information, call the library at 938-6301. Normal hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. The library is closed Wednesday, Sunday and all legal holidays.

Veterans Event Set For Tonight

FREWSBURG – There will be an honor and remembrance ceremony held at the Frewsburg Veterans Memorial Park on Parkway Drive in Frewsburg tonight at 7 p.m. for all of the town of Carroll residents who have served for the United States. The town is asking residents who have a loved one serving, or who want to remember a loved one’s service to our country, to bring a red or white geranium in honor of them. The geraniums will be planted at the park and throughout the town in honor and remembrance. For more information please call the Carroll Town Hall at 569-5365.

To Meet Thursday

CHAUTAUQUA – The annual meeting of the Chautauqua Cemetery Association will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in Hurlbut Church, Chautauqua Institution. The annual picnic/work session will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the cemetery – weather permitting.
