Humane Society To Hold Adoption Events Through Saturday

The Chautauqua County Humane Society will hold the Race to a Furever Home and Pittie Party through Saturday.

Six pit bull breed dogs under the organization’s care will be offered for adoption at half price. All of the dogs have been tested, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and have a microchip in place.

“‘Race to a Furever Home’ provides a timely theme and provides an interactive way for our Facebook followers to help the dogs get adopted,” said Roxanne Wendling, Chautauqua County Humane Society community relations director. “We have found that our Facebook group gets very excited and offers great support when we announce pet adoptions on our site, and we are hoping they get involved and participate in the action all week. The ‘Pittie Party’ gives a fun focus on a breed that can be more challenging to find permanent homes for because they are often misunderstood. We are also trying to increase awareness about our ongoing Fix-a-Bull Program which provides free spay/neuter surgery to any pit bull or pit mix dog from the 14701 zip code area.”
